In my survey, I found that 19 out of 21 respondents do not want to go offsite to use a makerspace. Most of the reasons people gave for not wanting to go offsite were related to logistics. It takes time and money to move our students and faculty to a different location, and as a community, we want to make the best use of those resources.

Another reason stated in several responses had to do with the fact that we would only be able to use the space occasionally or that only a few students would benefit from it. I think this is an important one. We want to avoid just having makerspace classes or technology classes. Instead, we envision the space as being available to all classes so that they can incorporate making and technology into the content they are teaching. This will give context to students for the new technologies they are learning.
